Some love stories begin with a swipe, and Megan and Matt’s is one that truly came full circle. Their beautiful June 20th wedding at Montagu Meadows, a premier Westminster, Maryland barn wedding venue, was filled with meaningful moments, family traditions, and unforgettable memories.
A Bumble Match That Led to Forever
Megan and Matt first connected on Bumble in July 2020 during the COVID pandemic, beginning a relationship that would eventually lead them to one of Megan’s favorite places.
In May 2024, Matt proposed on the beach in Dewey Beach, Delaware, during the town’s famous annual Golden Jubilee Golden Retriever Meet-Up. Dewey Beach has always held a special place in Megan’s heart and she loves Golden Retrievers. She spent her Loyola University senior week there years earlier and remembered seeing the Golden Jubilee for the very first time. She had shared with Matt that it was one of her favorite places, and he never forgot.
With both of their families secretly gathered nearby, Matt proposed on the beach before everyone celebrated together by walking over to watch hundreds of golden retrievers enjoying the annual event. It was the perfect proposal in a place filled with cherished memories.
A month later Math and Megan added Jax, a golden retriever to their family.
Matt decided on June 7 to purchase an early birthday gift for Megan. Not only was Megan recently engaged to Matt, but she was the proud Mom to Jax! Jax even made a visit to Montagu Meadows participate in private photos by the pond.
A Relaxed Start to the Wedding Weekend: The Wedding Rehearsal
Wedding weekend began with a Friday evening rehearsal, followed by a rehearsal dinner at World of Beer, where family and friends gathered to celebrate the couple before the big day.
Back at Montagu Meadows, Lauren from Best Day Events coordinated the rehearsal alongside Karen from My Beloved Ceremony, ensuring everyone felt comfortable and confident before walking down the aisle.
One of the greatest advantages of Montagu Meadows’ three-day wedding experience is having the time to slow down, rehearse, decorate, and truly enjoy the entire weekend. And Megan was in good hands with Lauren as her coordinator.
A Perfect June Wedding Ceremony in the Orchard
On a beautiful June afternoon, Megan and Matt exchanged vows beneath the trees in our orchard, one of Montagu Meadows’ most beloved outdoor ceremony locations.
One of the most emotional moments of the day came as Megan’s mother proudly walked her down the aisle in honor of her late father. It was a beautiful tribute that touched everyone in attendance.
Before the ceremony, the couple shared private vows, creating an intimate moment together before joining family and friends for the official ceremony. Also Jax joined Megan and Matt for pictures before the ceremony.
The bridal party looked stunning against the summer landscape. Bridesmaids wore elegant Sky Blue Azazie dresses while the flower girls were dressed in classic white. Megan was radiant in her gown from Posh Bridal, and Matt and his groomsmen looked timeless in navy suits from Men’s Wearhouse.

Lauren from Best Day Events transformed the reception space using Megan’s vision while incorporating beautiful décor from Montagu Meadows’ complimentary Something Borrowed Room.

One of the evening’s standout details was our evergreen backdrop, which beautifully displayed Megan and Matt’s personalized neon sign, creating a perfect focal point for photos throughout the reception.

The evening ended with one final magical moment...a sparkling send-off beneath the stars as guests lined the walkway with sparklers, creating the perfect ending to an unforgettable wedding day.
Favorite Part of Megan's Wedding Day
One of Megan's favorite parts of her wedding day was the private sunset photos with Matt. She loved spending time with Matt relaxing in the beautiful country setting with her husband. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends that she had not seen recently. It was a special reunion for them.
