Lily & Dylan’s Romantic Orchard Wedding at Montagu Meadows in Westminster, MD
Some wedding days simply feel effortless. The weather cooperates, the flowers are breathtaking, the guests know how to celebrate, and every detail reflects the couple. Lily and Dylan’s late-August wedding at Montagu Meadows, a beautiful Westminster Maryland wedding venue, was exactly that kind of day. And it was so full of fun. As a wedding venue owner, I always look forward to weddings with so much energy and this one did not disappoint.
Sunshine warmed the property throughout the afternoon, a gentle breeze moved through the gardens, and the temperature cooled as evening arrived creating the perfect setting for a late-summer celebration. The weather was as perfect as it could get.
From their romantic orchard wedding ceremony to a packed dance floor and a private last dance, Lily and Dylan’s wedding was filled with love, friendship, and plenty of fun.
Childhood Friends turned Sweethearts
Lily and Dylan met while they were in middle school during science class. What started out as friends in science class, followed by their first date at the roller skating rink, ultimately led them down the aisle to marriage in 2026.
The Wedding Rehearsal
On Friday evening, Lily, Dylan, their parents and siblings and the rest of the wedding party met at Montagu Meadows Wedding Venue in Westminster, MD. Lily and Dylan unloaded their cars with all their decor. Once all the decor was unloaded, Lauren from Best Day Events and Karen from My Beloved Ceremony ran the rehearsal. Lauren stayed behind to start decorating the barn, while the Lily and Dylan and the rest of bridal party left for Paradisio Restorante to celebrate.

The end of August can be a wonderful time for a summer wedding in Westminster, Maryland. Lily and Dylan were blessed with beautiful weather from beginning to end. With a high temperature of 81 degree and no humidity, everyone could enjoy the outside wedding ceremony.
The afternoon brought sunshine and a gentle breeze, while the evening became cooler and incredibly comfortable for celebrating outdoors. The natural beauty of Montagu Meadows provided the perfect backdrop for their wedding day.

A Romantic Orchard Wedding Ceremony in Carroll County, MD
Lily and Dylan chose our orchard wedding ceremony site, surrounded by mature trees and the natural beauty of the property.
They used our beautiful wooden arbor as the focal point for their ceremony, and the floral installation was absolutely stunning.
Lily and her mom, Laura, created the arbor flowers using blooms they ordered from Flower Moxie. For couples who want to create their own wedding flowers, Flower Moxie provides the flowers and guidance needed to assemble the arrangements themselves.
Together, Lily and Laura created the bouquets, arrangements, and arbor flowers. The finished result was gorgeous. The loose, wildflower-inspired florals gave the ceremony a romantic, natural feeling that fit beautifully with the orchard setting.
Best Day Events Creates a Beautiful Wedding Day
Lauren from Best Day Events coordinated Lily and Dylan’s wedding, and she did an amazing job.
Lauren helped bring all of the details together and made sure the day flowed smoothly. One of the special tasks she took on was hanging the beautiful floral arrangements on the wooden arbor before the ceremony.
Having an experienced wedding coordinator can make such a difference. Couples spend months planning their wedding, and on the wedding day, they deserve to relax and enjoy the celebration. Lauren made sure Lily and Dylan could do just that.
Lily’s Stunning Wedding Dresses
Lily looked absolutely beautiful on her wedding day and she had not one, but two stunning dresses.
She wore one gorgeous gown for her orchard ceremony from Stella's Bridal in Westminster, MD and then changed into a second dress for the reception. The bridesmaids wore gowns from Azazie in pink. They each got to choose the style gown they loved. The men wore black suites with bowties from Country View Tuxedos in Westminster, MD.
Her wildflower-inspired florals complemented her bridal look beautifully, while her second dress allowed her to transition from the elegance of the ceremony into a fun-filled evening of celebrating and dancing.
DIY Wedding Flowers with Flower Moxie
One of the details that made Lily and Dylan’s wedding especially personal was the flowers.
Lily and her mom, Laura, ordered their wedding flowers through Flower Moxie and created the arrangements themselves. From the bouquets to the ceremony arbor and other floral pieces, they put their own creativity and love into every detail.
The result was a beautiful collection of loose, romantic, wildflower-inspired arrangements that looked right at home at Montagu Meadows.
There is something incredibly special about seeing a bride and her family create pieces of the wedding themselves. These weren’t simply flowers—they were part of the memories Lily and her mom created together leading up to the wedding day.
Full-Service Wedding Catering by Carriage House
Carriage House provided the catering for Lily and Dylan’s wedding.
As a full-service caterer known for hospitality, their team did an incredible job taking care of the couple and their guests. They were also wonderful team players and helped with cleanup at the end of the evening.
We always appreciate vendors who go above and beyond, and Carriage House was a wonderful addition to this wedding celebration.
A Wedding Photographer Who Knows Montagu Meadows
The photography team was led by Samyi Bierman, who has a very special connection to Montagu Meadows.
Sammy actually got married here herself a few years ago. Since then, she has returned to photograph several weddings at the property.
That means Samyi knows the Montagu Meadows wedding venue inside and out. She knows where the beautiful light falls, which gardens make the perfect portrait locations, how the property changes throughout the day, and all of the little spots that make wedding photos special.
Her husband, Brent, joined her as the second shooter, giving Lily and Dylan an amazing photography team throughout their wedding day.
It was especially meaningful to have someone who once stood in Lily and Dylan’s shoes as a bride and groom return to capture another couple’s love story.
Burnside Events Keeps the Dance Floor Packed
If there is one thing everyone will remember about Lily and Dylan’s reception, it is the dancing. Lily and Dylan love to dance and it showed. A little secret about Dylan is he learned line dancing at Cancun Cantina. Then he taught them to Lily.
Corey from Burnside Events, the company’s owner, DJed the wedding and kept the celebration moving all night long.
The dance floor was packed.
These guests could dance. They danced, laughed, celebrated, and kept the energy going throughout the evening. It was one of those receptions where you could look across the dance floor and immediately see how much fun everyone was having.
The music, the guests, and the incredible energy made for an unforgettable reception at this Westminster Maryland wedding venue.
A Dessert Bar Instead of a Traditional Wedding Cake
Instead of a traditional wedding cake, Lily and Dylan chose something a little different and delicious.
Stonehouse Bakery provided a beautiful dessert bar filled with a variety of sweet treats. There were cheesecakes, cookies, and plenty of desserts for guests to enjoy.
The couple also had a sweetheart cheesecake, giving them a special dessert to share together without choosing a traditional tiered wedding cake.
A dessert bar is a fun way to give guests options and create a display that feels more relaxed and personal.
Hair, Makeup, and Personal Wedding Décor
Elements of Style took care of Lily’s hair, helping complete her beautiful bridal look.
Lily also brought many of her own décor pieces for the wedding, so she didn’t need to use a large amount from our Something Borrowed Room. Her personal touches helped make the celebration feel uniquely hers and Dylan’s.
From the flowers created by Lily and her mom to the décor she selected herself, there was a wonderful balance between the natural beauty of Montagu Meadows and the couple’s personal style.
A Private Last Dance and Sparkler Exit
As the evening came to an end, Lily and Dylan shared one of the sweetest moments of the entire wedding day: a private last dance.
After spending the evening surrounded by family and friends, they had a few quiet moments together to soak it all in on the deck in back of the barn.
Then it was time for their sparkler exit.
Their guests gathered with sparklers to send the newlyweds off, creating a fun and memorable ending to an incredible wedding day.
A Perfect Orchard Wedding in Westminster, Maryland
Lily and Dylan’s wedding was everything a late-summer wedding should be.
When asked what was their favorite part of the night, they responded with "the dance floor of course and having all their favorite people all in one place."
