Whether you’re a hopeless romantic or someone who’s never written a love letter in your life, writing your own vows can feel overwhelming. But it doesn’t have to be stressful. As the owner of Montagu Meadows and a mother to daughters who recently were married, I took this responsibility very seriously.  As the mother of the bride, you are not just showing up in a gorgeous dress and smiling for photos.  You’re supporting your daughter through one of the biggest days of her life. And while that sounds magical (and it is), it also comes with a few behind-the-scenes responsibilities that can make all the difference.   Here’s a guide to the things that help before, during, and after the wedding. Before the Wedding 1. Be Her Sounding Board, Not the Planner-in-Chief She might ask for your opinion, or she might just want to vent. Be her sounding board. Let her lead. Keep the Space Well-Maintained Regular maintenance is key to ensuring your wedding venue always looks attractive.
